CONECTIVA LINUX SECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT
PACKAGE : kde2
SUMMARY : Password sniffing via kdesu
DATE : 2001-01-30 14:05:00
ID : CLA-2001:378
RELEVANT
RELEASES : 6.0
DESCRIPTION
"kdesu" is an utility called by some graphic programs when they
need to execute something as another user, typically root. This
utility then prompts for the password. There is a vulnerability in
kdesu which allows for other users on the machine to capture that
password and thus potencially compromise the root account.
