"Maxtor Corp... unveiled a new rack-mount network-attached storage (NAS) appliance aimed at resellers serving ISPs and ASPs."
"The MaxAttach NAS 4000 appliance offers storage configurations of 40, 80 or 160 Gbytes. It includes a 64-Mbyte cache and takes up 1U (1.75 inches) of space in a standard 19-inch rack, said Don Woods, senior manager of marketing in the company's Network Systems Group. It supports Windows, Linux and Unix environments."
"The unit can have up to four hard-disk drives, each of up to 40 Gbytes in capacity. The drives can be addressed separately in a JBOD (just a bunch of disks) configuration, spanned for total capacity of up to 160 Gbytes, or configured for RAID."
