Linux Journal publisher SSC has announced publication of a new book about the GNU Image Manipulation Tool.

The author, Michael J. Hammel, is the graphics wizard who writes the monthly column "Graphics Muse", which appears in the Linux Gazette.

Writing on the linux-list mailing list January 1, 1999, Phil Hughes, President of SSC, said:

"SSC's book, The Artist's Guide to the GIMP by Michael Hammel is finally here. We got some sample copies yesterday and a major shipment was sent to Computer Literacy on the 30th so they should have them next week.

This is a 4-color glossy book on how to use the GIMP. Also includes a CD. I would say more but we shipped all the copies we had out for review. It does, however, look cool."
