Ok, first I'd like to know if this is that thought out as it seems to be at the first glance.

I don't know if it's even legal to do something like that!

Just think about it for a second:

Microsoft WON'T distribute as OpenSource, will they?

Allright, let's say they won't: They will most certainly not rewrite the entire Linux-kernel and all the part-programs it supports, they will STEAL the cookie from the table and put their own crappy -DELETED- on top of it, ok?

Allright, according to this scenario, they WON'T distribute as OpenSource, BUT they WILL USE OpenSource software in their own distribution! This means they will do something AGAINST the creator's of most OpenSource software license, won't they? I've seen several programs which includes a license agreement that says: "YOU MAY DO WHATEVER YOU LIKE WITH THIS SOFTWARE, BUT IT MUST BE DISTRIBUTED AS 'OPENSOURCE'!".

Am I right? (Maybe NOT! I can't check right now... uftly)

Ok, say they WILL distribute as OpenSource.

Well GRRRRRRRREAT! That means the Microsoft software will be free, and that means that the "good" parts (whatever that might be...) will be accessable! Like, for example, MS-Office! Then RedHat, Debian, etc. etc. may "add" this software (with modifications by REAL programmers, ofcourse) to their distributions, thus making Microsoft slaves under the OpenSource POWER!

Happy for response.
