"Scripting language now ready for server-class applications, says
Ousterhout."
"Scriptics Corp has rolled out an updated version of the open
source-distributed Tcl scripting language.
"Tcl 8.1 includes support of multithreaded
applications, internalization features, and a revamped regular expressions
package (for text manipulation), and is billed as a more scalable and
enterprise-level iteration of the popular scripting language."
"To boost performance, the multithreading support added in Version 8.1
permits the use of Tcl to write code that runs on multiprocessor servers,
for higher throughput -- for instance with one thread per processor,
according to Ousterhout."
