"Burning cd-roms under linux is just as easy as it is under Windows, probably easier. The reason is that you use the same tools no matter what hardware you have, be it a SCSI cd-recordable drive or an IDE-based one. You won't be using the software included for use with that other operating system."

"Most linux distributions have iso images on their ftp sites. So instead of going and purchasing a cd-rom with that iso image on it, you can download that iso image and use cdrecord to burn the image to a cd-recordable disc or a cd-rewriteable disc. Shouldn't be any problem."
