Fans of Groklaw recognize DiDio as the chief SCO apologist, and spewer of SCO FUD. Anyway, the "independent report" speaks for itself: "And in large enterprises, a significant Linux deployment or total switch from Windows to Linux, would be three to four times more expensive and take three times as long to deploy as an upgrade from one version of Windows to newer Windows releases," the study found. Gee, ya think??? Of course it would, if you're trying to retrain a bunch of MCSEs to run Linux, and having to migrate data and networking. (lotsa luck!) "Linux is most assuredly not free," the Yankee study found - "a fact that corporations now begin to realize." Um, duh? I think it's a deliberate Microsoft-backed campaign to continually emphasize the 'free beer' aspect of Linux. Which is the least part of it, and not part of Richard Stallman's vision. The FUD continues, friends, and it's going to get worse as M$ continues to lose ground with customers, and in the legal arena.
