I own an ASUS motherboard. They offer a version of Linux in the bootloader the call Splashtop. It allows you to get to the internet in 5 seconds from power up. Thats the good news. There is no mention of Linux anywhere. Thats the start of the bad news. There are upgrades of Splashtop available. Thats the good news. You can't run Linux and upgrade. Thats the bad news. There is a USB gadget that allows you to safely overclock on the fly without rebooting or bios changes. Thats the good news. There is no functionality to do this in Linux. Thats the bad news. ASUS made mountains of money off of Linux by putting it on notebooks. Thats the good news. ASUS dropped Linux and berates it, as often as they can, and offers no support now. Thats the bad news. Joe
