Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15 “Nev” Gets First Point Release to Improve Skylake Support

Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15r1 is now the latest stable and most advanced version of the distribution, shipping with the recently released Linux 4.4.48 LTS kernel, patched with BFS and TuxOnIce, to address a regression for Intel Skylake chips. Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15r0, the initial release of the OS, was powered by Linux kernel 4.4.44 LTS. Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15r1 “Nev” has been synchronized with the Debian GNU/Linux 8 “Jessie” repositories as of February 12, 2017, which means that it now includes all the latest security updates that Debian Linux users also received. The desktop environment remains based on the GNOME 3.22.2, though some packages were updated.
