Leonard Zubkoff, Kernel Developer, Former VA CTO, Killed in Helicopter Crash

Leonard Zubkoff, who did kernel development work on the DAC960
and SCSI subsytem for Linux and was VA’s CTO from 1998-2001, was
killed in a helicopter crash in Alaska last week. The identity of
the crash victims was revealed yesterday.

Larry Augustin, CEO of VA Software, sent this note to the Linux
kernel developers mailing list yesterday:

“Many of you may know Linux kernel developer Leonard Zubkoff
(BusLogic and DAC960 maintainer, among other contributions).
Leonard was killed recently in a helicopter crash…

“Leonard was one of the smartest people that I know, and I
consider myself lucky enough to have been privileged to work with
him. He will be missed.

“Larry”

A brief blurb on the crash can be found in the link below.
