First of all, Clement Lefebvre reminded users that the Linux Mint 22.x will not have an EDGE release because the upcoming Linux Mint 22.2 will be shipping with the HWE (Hardware Enablement) kernel from the upstream Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (Noble Numbat) operating system, namely Linux kernel 6.11.

Second, and most exciting news, is that the Linux Mint team has started working on a redesign of the application menu/launcher for the Cinnamon desktop environment. The team didn’t mention when they plan to ship the revamped Cinnamon app menu, but, most probably, it will land with the upcoming Cinnamon 6.6 release.
