“At the Networks Telecom show, Brooktrout announced that it
is now supporting Linux across its complete range of network and
Internet hardware products.

“According to the company, developers that have chosen Linux as
their platform for building “new network” applications such as
unified messaging, voice portals, WebTV and voice over Internet
protocol, as well as telephony applications, can now use Linux “to
its fullest extent.”

“Eric Giler, Brooktrout’s president, said that Linux has been
gaining a major foothold in Web servers, e-commerce servers and
embedded systems for “new network” applications.”
