“In a world in which computing has become as pervasive as the
air we breathe, many don’t realize that in addition to keyboard
shortcuts and the emerging field of voice recognition, there are
ways to minimize the amount of work one has to do with the mouse.
Graphics designers will particularly like to hear about
Sensiva.”
“The program will even allow you to download plug-ins that will
enhance the capabilities beyond the bundled features. Developers
are invited to download a development kit. Average users can
extend the capabilities of Sensiva, one command at a time, by
drawing a symbol with the mouse (or loading a set of predefined
symbols) and assigning it to a desired command. After doing this,
performing the same motion with the mouse will perform the desired
command.”
“The Linux version of Sensiva still has a long way to go
before it reaches the functionality and feature richness of its
Windows and Mac cousins. I tested the Linux version using
GNOME. Installation was a breeze. Unfortunately, this version has
proven that it works only on the desktop. Though it comes with
configuration files for Netscape Navigator, Navigator did not
respond to Sensiva for Linux.”
