“KDE Plasmoids provide a powerful platform to create
desktop widgets and applications. In this tutorial we will look at

useful, although usualy simple, applications that sit on the
desktop and out of the way. KDE has taken these desktop widgets to
a whole new level with Plasma. Instead of having your desktop, your
menus and panels and then having the widgets on the top, KDE uses
Plasma to create most of the desktop experience.”
