American Power Conversion, Finally Embraces Linux

April 20, APCC announced, and I have confirmed with corporate,
that in fact, late in the second quarter, or early third quarter,
1999, we will see APCC embrace Linux.

There are rumors that PowerChute will be released as Open
Source.

This is possibly a result of seeing Linux develop one of the
best challangers to their software product. (apcupsd).

To my surprise, many Linux users desire an OEM package. I guess
there are still those people that do not quite understand.
