“IBM Corp. is buying Austin startup BuildForge Inc., which makes
tools that help software developers build, test and release their
products.

“IBM said the acquisition is part of its strategy to build a
network of software developers that support open-source technology,
such as Linux, which is owned by no single company and is available
to all developers. IBM has a Linux-development lab at its Austin
campus, where it employs about 6,300 people…”
