“Author: Tor Lillqvist
Program Type: Freeware

File Description:
The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely
distributed piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo
retouching, image composition and image authoring.”

“Reviews

After first download of GIMP for Windows, it took two days and it
was my default image editor and creator. Using GIMP together with
Dogwaffle for some paint/draw effects and IrfanView just for snap
viewing – give a freeware tool which maybe don’t give all one may
want – but most likely all you need…”

“The GIMP is an awesome program, but it was originally written
only for Linux/Unix. My thanks goes out to Tor Lillqvist for
taking the time to port it to Win32! This program does probably 99%
of what Adobe Photoshop (Retail: something like US$600) does, but
for free! Although slightly buggy, it works great.”
