NetXpress, its electronic commerce software, turning over more than
$4 million… Corporate Express was an early user of the Internet
as a fully fledged distribution channel and a pioneer in its use of
theOpen Source Linux operating system for its e-commerce.”

“Although Nark cannot put a figure on savings through using
Linux, he says they are significant because almost nothing has been
spent on e-commerce. “I guess it was a gamble when we decided to go
with Linux. However, more major companies are now using it and, in
retrospect, the market has moved with us. Linux is a cost-effective
option and is easy for anyone with Unix experience to
implement.”
