When enthusiasts, vendors and developers gather at
LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in New York City beginning
February 1, they will be greeted by a tidal wave of new industry
innovations, initiatives, and companies.
Event organizer IDG
World Expo announced today that virtually all 175-plus companies
exhibiting at the show plan to demonstrate and announce new
Linux-based businesses, services, technologies and applications.
With names as diverse as TUCOWS, YOUcentric, Red Hat, Interstar
Technologies and MandrakeSoft, companies participating in
LinuxWorld Conference & Expo are reinventing the way technology
and business functions.”

“Our first East Coast show is shaping up to be a watershed event
for the Linux community,” said Charlie Greco, president and CEO,
IDG World Expo. “In less than a year, LinuxWorld Conference &
Expo has already become a focal point for industry announcements on
developing and running a business on Linux. In an industry with
accelerating growth, we think this show will continue to surge in
importance and attract an even larger, more diverse worldwide
audience.”

“In addition to the many company announcements scheduled,
visitors and exhibitors alike will hear first-hand, through 50
conference sessions broken into seven conference tracks and 14
tutorials, in-depth industry analysis and perspectives delivered by
industry leaders such as Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux; Larry
Augustin, founder, president and CEO, VA Linux Systems; and Dr.
Irving Wladawsky-Berger, senior vice president of technology and
strategy, IBM.”
