“Free Online Support Services Made Available to 7,000
Registered Projects on its Freshmeat.Net site.”

“Andover.Net (NASDAQ:ANDN)… today launched a comprehensive
services program for the Open Source community on its Freshmeat.Net
site. Freshmeat, the Internet’s largest archive of Linux/Open
Source projects, now offers everything an organization needs to
begin, develop and distribute an Open Source project including:
free web hosting, web-based CVS, unlimited FTP downloads and
project and mailing list management.”

“Open Source projects need a secure, reliable and robust hosting
environment,” said Bruce Twickler, president and CEO of
Andover.Net. “Andover.Net is committed to the Open Source movement
and is eager to provide a home for as many projects as possible.
All of Freshmeat’s 7,000 registered projects are invited to take
advantage of this free hosting service.”

“In addition to the free hosting, Server51 will give
opportunities for developers to fund and expand their Open Source
projects. They can fund their projects by sharing revenues from
advertising and sponsorships on their hosted pages. The advertising
is solicited and sold to Linux vendors by the Andover.Net media
sales force. They can also earn revenues by providing support for
their projects to individuals and corporations on QuestionExchange,
Andover.Net’s on-line technical Linux/Open Source support
marketplace.”
