BW: Endgate Develops Smallest Broadband Antenna for Toshiba

“Endgate Corporation, the leading provider of high-speed,
first-mile broadband access engines for powering e-business, today
announced it has developed the world’s smallest, high-performance
millimeter wave customer premise antenna for deployment throughout
Japan by Toshiba. This innovative, nine-inch antenna is an ideal
solution for high-speed Internet access systems in major urban
areas.”

Endgate was able to design, fabricate and test the new
antenna in only three weeks by leveraging its leading antenna
design team supported by their Beowulf supercomputer, which was
built internally by Endgate engineers.
The Beowulf system was
fundamental in enabling the development team to quickly model,
design and verify the customized antenna design. This breakthrough
design is ideal for Toshiba’s new high-speed Internet access
systems because it was designed for the high population density and
unique frequency requirements in Japan.”

“We chose Endgate because it was the only company with the
technical expertise and design resources to create this
revolutionary antenna in record time,” said Dr. Hiroshi Kobayshi,
Senior Manager, Multimedia Wireless Access Systems Planning
Department, Telecommunication Systems Division, Toshiba.”
