“Research Systems, Inc., today announced the release of ION(TM)
1.2, which offers ION Script and an enhanced ION Java.

Both ION products allow users to create and distribute
full-featured data analysis and visualization applications over an
Intranet or the Internet.
The newest product, ION Script, is
an XML-based language that makes it easy to add IDL visualizations
and analysis to any Web site. ION 1.2 also includes ION Java, the
original ION product, which now includes JavaBeans(TM), support for
JFC/Swing components, and increased performance.

ION Script contains tags embedding visualizations and data,
which enable HTML users to easily incorporate IDL-generated
information into a web document. ION Script offers the easiest
method of accessing IDL features.”

“ION supports Microsoft Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT 4.0, IBM
AIX, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, SGI IRIX, Compaq Tru64 UNIX and Linux
operating systems.”
