“Maxspeed Corp., the leader in Linux desktop devices, Thursday
announced the appointment of David W. McAllister as the company’s
chief technology officer. His appointment reinforces Maxspeed’s
core strategy, taking the leadership role in bringing Linux to the
desktop.”

“McAllister is expected to lead and nurture Maxspeed’s product,
service and web strategy, supporting a new class of Linux desktop
applications making Linux a superior choice for enterprise
applications on the desktop. Maxspeed desktop devices allow
multiple users to share one Linux server and eliminate the need for
Linux PCs on the desktop, offering substantially improved

versus Wintel PC-based networks.”

“Before joining Maxspeed, McAllister spent several years at
Silicon Graphics Inc., (SGI). Most recently he was director of
strategic technologies and was the primary driver of SGI’s Linux
messaging and strategy. He has also served as senior marketing
manager and product manager at SGI. He has been active in Linux
industry groups including service on the board of directors of
Linux International and the advisory board for Linux.com.”
