“National Semiconductor announced that it has licensed Citrix’s
Independent Computing Architecture (ICA(R)) client software for the
Linux operating system. National, the leading provider of silicon
solutions and development platforms for the thin client market,
will use Citrix ICA to provide its customers the most enhanced
solution utilizing the Linux operating system. The National thin
client solution, based on the National(R) Geode(TM) GXLV integrated
processor, provides optimal performance with low power consumption
at an affordable cost.”

Citrix’s ICA client software, together with the National
thin client silicon solutions, offers users an easy-to-use,
high-performance platform with access to a wide range of
applications.
Thin clients in an application server-computing
environment provide enhanced capabilities such as speed,
reliability, secure access to critical applications, as well as
significant cost savings from centralized application hosting,
deployment and administration.”

“Citrix and National are driving the thin client, application
server computing market by continuing to develop increasingly
innovative solutions,” said Barry Davis, vice president of
Corporate Alliances for Citrix. “By incorporating support for
Citrix ICA technology into National’s Geode family of solutions, we
can offer the market new ways to implement the application serving
model and gain its benefits of broader application reach, higher
performance over limited bandwidth, and reduced cost of application
ownership.”
