“National Technical Systems…a leading provider of quality and
conformance testing and managed services for telecommunications,
information technology and other industries, and its President and
Chief Executive Officer Jack Lin, Thursday announced the release of
its “Linux Test Suite,” for validating Linux operating systems
ported to hardware platforms.”

The Linux Test Suite is initially being deployed on
projects for three large hardware and software companies to ensure
the functionality and operability of products tested.

“According to the announcement by NTS Executive Vice President
William McGinnis, the protocol covers key Linux components and
server modules, including network and Web protocols (TCP/IP,
NETBEUI, SMTP, POP3, FTP), and a wide variety of ISA and PCI
peripherals. Key Linux server features are employed, including
complete installation in single-user and server modes, Apache,
sendmail, ipmasquing, Samba and PPP/SLIP.”
