“VMware Inc…announced the release of VMware 1.1 for Linux, the
newest version of VMware virtual machine technology for Linux
users. VMware will debut the new product at the Atlanta Linux
Showcase (booth number 201) from October 12th through 16th.”

“This release follows closely on the heels of the company’s
launch of VMware for Windows NT and Windows 2000 in September.
Since launching the original VMware 1.0 for Linux in May, more
than 180,000 users have registered on the company’s website to
evaluate and/or purchase the product.
The company’s customer
base includes developers, quality assurance and technical support
engineers, as well as Linux users who want access to Windows
applications. Linux users have responded enthusiastically to the
new release.”
