BW: Open Source Wireless Developer Kit to be Distributed At JavaOne Conference and Exhibition

“Lutris Technologies, Inc., an Open Source enterprise software
and services company, today announced plans to distribute a free
Open Source Wireless Developer Kit to attendees of the JavaOne
Conference and exhibition in San Francisco this week. The Wireless
Developer Kit CD employs technologies from and is sponsored by Sun
Microsystems, AnywhereYouGo.com, and Lutris Technologies.”

“As businesses grasp the potential of mobile commerce, the
market is exploding,” said David Taber, director of business
development, Forte Tools, Sun Microsystems. “We’re pleased that
Lutris selected the Forte for Java IDE, based on the NetBeans Open
Source technology, for this well-timed wireless development
offering.

“The Wireless Development Kit includes Sun’s Forte for Java
Community Edition 1.0 software, a wireless development tutorial
including a sample Internet address book application contributed by
AnywhereYouGo.com, the YoSpace cell phone emulator, the WAPtor WML
editor, the Enhydra Java/XML Open Source application server, and
InstantDB, a Java technology based Open Source relational
database.”
