“Programmer’s Paradise(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: PROG) has announced the
winners of its prestigious Riding the Crest(TM) Awards for 1999.
North America’s largest dedicated reseller of development products
presented these awards to the top sales-grossing product in
multiple categories at the recent CMP Software Development Expo in
San Jose, California. Twenty awards were presented to leading
software vendors, and valuable prizes were taken home by a virtual
who’s who in the development industry.”

“Winning the award for best-selling overall development product
was Microsoft with Microsoft MSDN Universal Subscription. Microsoft
also took home honors for best selling Language (Virtual Studio
Enterprise), DBMS (SQL Server), and Source Code Management product
(Visual SourceSafe). Visual Cafe now published by WebGain, was the
best-selling Java Language category award winner, Wildfile GoBack
was the top sales-grossing new product, and MicroEdge Visual
SlickEdit edged out the competition for best Linux tool.

Allaire’s Cold Fusion Server Professional grabbed the Site Building
honors while Macromedia Dreamweaver notched best selling web
authoring tool. Other winners included Sybase, Computer Associates,
Seagate, Merant, MKS, Premia, Nu Mega, Sheridan, Apex,
Installshield, and Blue Sky.”
