“Talarian Corporation, a market leader in real-time middleware,
announced the immediate availability of SmartSockets(R) for
Linux(R) running on Intel architecture servers.”

“Talarian now provides the industry’s highest performing
publish-subscribe middleware on Linux, achieving a sustained rate
of over 20,000 messages per second. In addition, SmartSockets
allows Linux developers to write publish-subscribe messaging
applications once, and deploy them on virtually any of the more
than 20 platforms that Talarian supports without modifying the
code.”

“…The performance numbers we got on Linux were mind boggling,”
said Tom Laffey, cofounder and chief technology officer for
Talarian. “When we saw the initial numbers, we thought they
couldn’t possibly be real. Linux easily outperformed all of the
other platforms including Windows NT and Solaris.”
