“Technauts, a leading U.S. provider of software for smart
Internet appliances, today announced that it has entered into a
joint development arrangement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS),
Asia’s largest global consulting company, to open an engineering
center in India.”

“This partnership will bring smart Internet appliances to
India’s burgeoning Internet market. Furthermore, this agreement
represents Technauts’ first step in capturing a greater share of
the global information appliance market.”

“Technauts will leverage TCS’s infrastructure in joint product
development, testing and support of its eServer product family.
Technauts’ Linux-based eServer information appliances cost a
fraction of the price of traditional networking and Internet
solutions — total eServer solutions (hardware and software) start
at less than US$700.
But they give organizations with big
needs and small budgets just the right blend of features and
functions to harness the full benefits of Web technology —
including Internet access, email, Web hosting, intranets and print
and file sharing.”

“eServer information appliances allow organizations to evolve at
their own pace, at a manageable price and with minimal complexity.
Moreover, by adding Technauts’ recently announced
failover/redundancy software to the solution, businesses can gain
the assurance that their mission-critical applications will remain
up and running.”
