Indeed Visual Concepts GmbH, has selected TGS as the worldwide
distributor for their flagship Amira software package… developed
using the latest release of the Open Inventor(TM) toolkit from TGS,
version 2.5. Open Inventor is also being used to port the advanced
visualization software to Unix, Linux and Windows NT
platforms.”

“Amira is a 3D visualization and modeling system originally
developed at the Department for Scientific Visualization of ZIB
(Berlin, Germany). Indeed Visual Concepts has continued to develop
and maintain the product. Initially utilized in medical treatment
applications such as cancer therapy planning and the investigation
of anatomical structures in neuro-biology, Amira has since been
used in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical Engineering, and
Geophysics and Physics simulation as well. Amira can provide a
robust visualization solution for any project in which
3-dimensional data sets have to be processed and analyzed.”

“Amira 2.0 is available now on SGI, HP and Linux platforms.
Thanks to Open Inventor from TGS, Amira will also soon be available
on Sun and Windows NT platforms as well.”
