“TurboLinux…announced today an alliance with Compaq Computer
Corporation…to support companies developing applications to run
on TurboCluster Server, the world’s first commercial software
clustering solution for Linux.”

Under the agreement, independent software vendors will be
able to test drive their applications on TurboCluster Server
software, Compaq ProLiant servers and Compaq AlphaServer systems at
Compaq’s Marlboro, Massachusetts Test Drive Lab accessible over the
Internet.

“Compaq is a world leader in delivering high availability
computing solutions,” said Cliff Miller, CEO of TurboLinux.
“TurboLinux is the leader in cluster solutions on Linux and our
TurboCluster Server software is optimized to perform on Compaq
Intel architecture server platforms and, soon, 64-bit Alpha
platforms. The combination of our software and Compaq hardware is a
big win for software developers.”
