Byte’s Moshe Bar takes a look at upgrading your Linux
installation to the 2.4 kernel. He also has something provocative
to say about Linux distributions, which he maintains are declining
in quality:
“Why then, oh why, are the Linux distributions going
backward? I think I have the answer: money. As long as the Linux
distributions were in the game for fun, they did a good job. Now
that the Nasdaq has made the old truth re-surface, which says that
companies need to turn profits (GASP!!!) to survive, companies
start to cut on staff and start pushing for delivery dates, and
then you get this mess.”
