Open Source Nutch-based search engine ObjectsSearch.com has
released a beta version of a new service that allows software
developers to incorporate ObjectsSearch’s capabilities into their
own applications.
Called ObjectsSearch Web APIs (application programming
interfaces), the developer’s kit provides documentation and sample
code for using the service for Java.
With the ObjectsSearch Web APIs service, software developers can
query ObjectsSearch index from their own computer programs.
ObjectsSearch uses the SOAP and WSDL standards so a developer
can program in his or her favorite environment – such as Java,
Perl,or Visual Studio .NET.
ObjectsSearch is attempting to extend its reach into the
application development market by allowing developers to experiment
freely with its search technology.
Services are being offered in beta form so that the company can
obtain feedback from developers.
