“Sure most of the big names have jumped into the ASP ring: Dell,
Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard. Now Gateway has joined the fray
via a $25 million stake in Linux software developer eSoft
Inc.
, while at the same time giving the public a peek at its
plans to offer its own Web, VPN and application hosting services.
But there are hundreds of smaller hardware and software vendors
scrambling for the attention of ASPs.”

“The announcements expected to come out of the Internet &
Electronic Conference & Exposition in New York next week say it
all:”

“Intelisys Electronic Commerce is unveiling an ASP version of
its IEC-Enterprise Internet-based purchasing application for large
corporate and government buyers; e-business infrastructure provider
WRQ Inc. is debuting a relationship that enables e-businesses to
use XML technology for integration of data in IBM mainframe, AS/400
and Unix hosting applications into information portals; 2Way is
introducing a new e-business application that gathers feedback on
customer experiences; and the list goes on.”
