“As expected, Corel Corp. said at Comdex last week it is
shipping its Linux operating system entry and promised a version of
Corel WordPerfect Office for Linux next spring….”

Corel plans to ship WordPerfect Office for Linux next
spring, to be followed by a Linux version of CorelDraw by year’s
end, executives said. The company previewed these applications,
showing their ability to import and export PDF files….

“Corel decided to base its Linux on Debian because of the
developer support around the world, numbering in excess of 500
developers, said Eric Forlher, product manager at Corel.”
