“While Sun Microsystems Inc. is moving ahead with Linux, it has
no plans to port the open-source operating system to its
hardware.”

“This week at Linux Expo in Raleigh, N.C., Sun will showcase its
Linux efforts, the latest of which includes software released last
week that lets Linux applications run on Solaris, Sun’s version of
Unix, company executives said.”

“The Palo Alto-based company also said last week it plans to
offer free development tools next month to ensure source-code
compatibility between Linux and Solaris.”
