“My wife and I have one daughter. Not counting PDAs, we have
five computers in our house. No, we did not buy computers for our
pets. My wife, daughter and I each have our own computers. My wife
has a laptop and I have one.“According the US Department of Census, as of August 2001, 51%
of all Americans had at least one computer in the home. While it is
amazing that over half of Americans have a computer, it is almost
equally amazing that almost half do not. The US Census Department
reports:“A ratio of 9-in-10 school-age children (6-to-17 years old) had
access to a computer in 2000, with 4-in-5 using a computer at
school and 2-in-3 with one at home, according to a report released
today by the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau…”
