“Linux distributor Red Hat Software Inc. said Friday it set an
expected price range of $10 to $12 per share for its pending
initial public offering of six million shares.”

“…Red Hat in June filed to offer up to $96.6 million in common
stock but didn’t detail terms of the offering. … Golman Sachs
& Co., Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, Hambrecht & Quist and
E*Trade Securities Inc. are underwriters.”

“Durham, N.C.-based Red Hat already has gained the financial
backing of technology heavyweights like International Business
Machines Corp., Compaq Computer Corp., Intel Corp., Oracle Corp.,
Germany’s SAP AG, Novell Inc. and Netscape, which was recently
acquired by America Online Inc.”
