“emWare’s solution extends Jini technology to connect the
billions of devices people use everyday in their homes, offices and
factories, and enable these devices to be accessed, managed,
controlled and networked with a Web browser, PDA, phone or other
application.”

“emGateway provides the EMIT software communication link between
large, conventional networks, including LANs, WANs, intranets and
the Internet, and lightweight device networks such as RS232, RS485,
CAN, IR and RF. emGateway uses standard Internet technologies such
as Java and HTTP to distribute information from devices through any
network to a browser, PDA, telephone, spreadsheet, enterprise
application or database. emWare’s emGateway software runs on
Windows 95, Windows 98, NT, Win CE, and soon ChorusOS and
Linux.”
