“Two major computer makers, Hewlett-Packard and Silicon
Graphics, are to support the free software product Linux operating
system got a boost from, according to reports.”

“The companies said they will begin providing Linux as an option
on some of their computers built with chips from Intel, the Wall
Street Journal said today. HP also said it will create a version of
Linux to run on its Merced chip, which it is jointly developing
with Intel.”
