“For folks who are interested in running a full Linux distro
right from a FAT partition DragonLinux may be the way to go. Based
on Slackware 7.1, DragonLinux V2r1 accomplishes its tasks with
minimal fuss and a humorous installation guide. All without the use
of UMSDOS. While you won’t get little Windows icons or a Windows
based configuration utility, what you do get is real live Slackware
without partitioning needs….”

“After the initial installation steps were completed a reboot
was required. Once back into DOS DL came alive with yet another
batch file. Within a minute or so I was presented with a login as
well as instructions on getting started. The first thing on the
instruction list was how to get a root password set up. Next came
instructions on configuring the system followed by how to get rid
of the instruction list on boot. I have to say the DL team
certainly doesn’t leave the user in the dark when getting things
together. Warnings about what to do, what not to do, etc… are all
posted right where you can’t miss them. Very nice.”
