with Microsoft today forced to admit a security hole in Windows NT
which exposes users’ passwords and files to intruders.”

“The admission comes just days after a US software developer
discovered that Windows 98 was capable of collating hardware
information from users registering their software. The discovery
fuelled accusations that Microsoft had been illegally amassing
consumer information but company officials maintained the feature
was a mistake.”
