“Corel Corp. will show “strong profitability” in its second
quarter when it releases results next Monday, Michael Cowpland, the
company’s chairman and chief executive, claimed yesterday.”

“We’re now back to strong profitability,” Mr. Cowpland said in a
talk at the first meeting of a new Linux Advisory Council in
Ottawa. “We’ll be announcing our results on June 21st in more
detail. But you can tell from the activity in our shares, which
have been going up rapidly, that market confidence is coming back
to Corel due to the success we’re having.”

“Expectations of a profit have nudged the stock higher in recent
days.”
