“It is true that Corel has its own agenda for promoting Linux’s
use in government. However, I want to promote the use of Linux by
governments for one simple reason: I am a taxpayer and small
business owner, and I resent it when governments waste my
money.”
“Governments can save millions of dollars per year in direct
software licensing costs by using Linux instead of Microsoft
products. The Mexican education ministry, for example, has embarked
on a five-year project to equip Mexican schools with one million
Linux-based computers. The savings in software licences alone are
over $100-million (US).”
