First Ever JustLinux/Linux Today Community Event

One of my favorite things is meeting readers of our Linux Web
sites in person. I have been fortunate to meet quite a few over the
years, even the real Dean Pannell. It’s a great opportunity to get
to know the people behind the electrons.

With this in mind, I wanted to share the announcement that the
Linux community help Web site JustLinux has announced its
first-ever JustLinux Community Event, to be held at the Santa Clara
Convention Center, Santa Clara, California, on June 5.

And, because of the strength of the Linux Today community,
readers of Linux Today are also invited to attend this event.

The Communuty Event, which is being held in conjunction with the
Enterprise Linux Forum at the SCCC from June 4-6, is your chance to
meet community members, leaders, and editors from JustLinux and
Linux Today face-to-face.

Never ones to miss a good party, I will be there, along with LT
editor emeritus Michael Hall.

This event is free to the public–all we ask is that you
pre-register for a free Expo Only pass to the Enterprise Linux
Forum event. Registration for the Spring 2003 ELF can be done
online.
Not only will this pass grant you access to the Community Event,
but you will also get the chance to meet and greet vendors from all
aspects of the Linux business community, including Red Hat, IBM,
Oracle, and Ximian, to name a few.

Refreshments and snacks will be served at the Community Event,
which I hope will be the first of many to come. (East Coast
readers, fear not! We are definitely going to have a similar event
at the Fall 2003 ELF in Washington, DC this October.)

Discussion and suggestions for this event is certainly invited
in the talkbacks here or at
JustLinux
.

As the event nears, we’ll release more details, such as the
specific time. I hope to see you in Silicon Valley this June!
