” Linux is good–many say it is the NT killer–but some feel Be
is superior.”

“We were able to browse our Microsoft network using a Linux port
of Samba’s SMB client (Server Message Block, the heart and soul of
Microsoft networking), but it only worked from within the command
shell. We had to save files locally then “put” them on the server
via FTP using the command shell.”

This article is mostly an introduction to BeOS, but gives 2
mentions to Linux (quoted above). It appears that in Forbes’ view,
Linux is past the need for introduction.
