“Gentoo prides itself on being a community driven distribution
and everything we do we do with the best interest of the community
at heart. We don’t like making rules, but unfortunately with a
community of this size it’s necessary to have some ground rules
firmly in place in order for us to keep doing what we have been
doing. We want these rules to be 100% transparent and consistently
enforced and followed.

“Although we can’t protect every one of our thousands of
community members from ever being offended or unhappy with the
community, we aim to empower people without enabling destructive
behaviours or attitudes…”
