GNOME Newsreader Wins The Register’s “Flame of the Week”

Orlowski was the author of last week’s Register article,
“Gnome version 2.0 officially not of use to anyone”. The article
was a

here on Linux Today. Since code speaks louder
than words, a new release of Pan seemed like the logical way to
respond to the Register’s content-free article.

[The readers] that made that article so popular here on
LinuxToday might enjoy trying their hands at writing code for their
favorite desktop(s). It’s much more fun than
flaming in the forums 🙂

“GNOME-compatible Usenet client software pan (that’s
for Pimp-Ass Newsreader) has named its latest release – version
0.10.0.92 “Andrew Orlowski Can Kiss My Ass”.

Charles Kerr made the announcement here , adding that the
“Andrew Orlowski Can Kiss My Ass” release uses less memory and disk
space when decoding attachments. It also fixes some memory leaks
found in the earlier version 0.10.0.91 “Hildie and Satin”.
