GNULinux.com: Thinkfree Office Review

“ThinkFree Office is one of the newest entrants to the ASP
market (Application Service Providers) for home and office users,
offering an office environment no matter which operating system you
are using at the time. ASP’s tie the Internet in with applications
to allow for an integrated “workspace” that will pretty much follow
you anywhere you have access to the Internet and a browser.
They’re built to be an ‘integrated’ solution for those people
who are constantly on the go, thin clients, and for those of us who
are absolutely sick of the oversized hard-drive consuming office
suites that end up being about a gig in size. ThinkFree includes
ThinkFree Write (word processing) ThinkFree Calc (spreadsheet) and
ThinkFree Show (presentations) with more being slated for the near
future releases.

“We have tested the new ThinkFree Office in both Windows 98 and
Linux (where it is still in Alpha release) and have found it to be
fast, intelligent, and worth the download time. In Windows, it
makes a shortcut to the application when you want to work offline
and save files and documents locally, Linux apparently does not
have the same functionality, at least not at this time.”
